Wellness and Preventative Care

Wellness Exam

Your pet can benefit greatly from regular wellness examinations or checkups. Whether your pet is a youngster, a “senior citizen,” or any age in between, wellness examinations provide an excellent opportunity for us to conduct a thorough physical examination and develop a health profile for your pet. This information will help us identify medical problems and any other issues that can affect your pet’s health and quality of life.

Vaccines help pets live longer, healthier lives. Protecting your pet is our primary goal, so developing an appropriate vaccine schedule for your pet is important to us. Call us today to set up an appointment to discuss your pet’s vaccination needs.

Parasite Prevention and Control

Parasites are often uncomfortable and in severe cases can be fatal if left untreated. It is important to assess internally and externally for parasites that may using your pet as a host. Fecal examinations and blood collection for heartworm tests can help determine our best course of action for treatment or prevention. We carry a variety of products used for flea, tick, intestinal worms, and heartworms. A physical examination and current heartworm test (within the last year) is required for heartworm preventive medication to be dispensed.

Dental Care

Routine Cleaning Service

The KAAWS Clinic provides routine cleaning services at the most affordable rate. Dental and oral care is extremely important for the maintenance of your pet’s long-term health. Any pet that is evaluated and has surpassed the first 2 stages of periodontal disease (see the dental disease diagram below) will be referred to one of our full-service sister clinics. Since we cannot perform dental x-rays at our KAAWS clinics, this also includes any pet with obvious trauma related, congenital, and/or acquired oral health problems. Pets with any of these (or additional diagnosed) higher risk problems will now be referred to a full-service veterinarian for all dental services.
